Heavy Unit is a vertically scrolling shoot 'em up arcade game released by SNK in 1988. The game features a diverse range of enemies and bosses.  Gameplay involves piloting a powerful battle unit, upgrading weapons, and surviving waves of relentless attacks.  Different regional versions exist, accounting for variations in graphics and perhaps gameplay elements, with notable differences between the US, Japanese, and World releases. The older Japanese version may have slightly different graphics or gameplay mechanics compared to the newer one.
