Fantastic (Galaga conversion on Galaxian hardware)
Fantastic is an arcade game released by Namco in 1982. It's a conversion of the Galaga space shooter built using the hardware of the Galaxian arcade game. The gameplay remains true to the core mechanics of Galaga; players control a small spaceship at the bottom of the screen and fire at descending enemies. The key difference lies in the limitations of the Galaxian hardware. It resulted in a somewhat less polished visual experience compared to the original Galaga. The game's structure and enemy patterns were largely retained, ensuring a familiar experience for fans. Namco, known for its innovative arcade titles, successfully adapted the Galaga gameplay to existing technology.
